Navajo County crime data

In 2019, over 380 crimes were reported in Navajo County. Of these, nearly 340 were property crimes, and around 40 were violent crimes. That was an increase of 3% from the 396 complaints filed in 2018.

Property crimes included 115 larceny-theft cases and over 190 burglary complaints, among others. The violent crime total included 37 instances of aggravated assault and 5 of robbery.

During the 10 years between 1999 and 2008, overall crime rates grew in Navajo County by almost sixty-eight percent. Violent crimes increased by over seventy percent during the same period. Reported crimes averaged 2,233 per year, which meant that a crime occurred in Navajo County every three hours. Nearly one-half of those crimes occurred less than one mile from the victim’s home.
